1. Purpose
This Refund Policy explains when money is refunded for fashion design, ladies' tailoring, embroidery, alterations, and related services provided by ZAW Ladies Fashion Designer & Tailoring – FZE.
Because many garments are made or altered according to the customer's measurements, fabric selection, design, and specific instructions, refund eligibility depends on whether the item is custom-made, altered, ready-made, or defective.
Returns, exchanges, and fitting or alteration corrections are covered separately in our Returns & Exchange Policy.
2. Custom-made and tailored garments
Custom-made or tailored garments are produced according to the customer's measurements, design approval, fabric choice, and other personal requirements. Accordingly:
- Deposits and advance payments are generally non-refundable once cutting, stitching, embroidery, or other production work has started.
- A customer may cancel an order before production begins, subject to deduction of any consultation, design, material, procurement, or administrative costs already incurred.
- No refund is given for a correctly completed custom-made garment merely because the customer has changed their mind, selected a different design, or no longer requires the garment.
- The customer is responsible for providing accurate measurements and clearly communicating design requirements.
3. Defective or incorrectly supplied items
A customer may request a refund if an item is delivered with a material defect or is materially different from the agreed order, and repair, alteration, or replacement is not reasonably possible.
The customer should contact ZAW within 7 calendar days of collection or delivery and provide the order or receipt details, a description of the issue, clear photographs where relevant, and the garment for inspection.
After inspection, ZAW may provide a partial or full refund where repair or replacement is not reasonably possible.
A defect does not include ordinary wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, improper washing or ironing, accidental damage, unsuitable storage, or alterations performed by another tailor.
4. Ready-made items
Unused ready-made items may be eligible for a refund if returned within 7 calendar days of purchase, provided that:
- The item is unworn, unwashed, undamaged, and in resalable condition.
- Original tags, packaging, and proof of purchase are available.
- The item has not been personalised, altered, embroidered, or modified.
Sale items, clearance items, personalised items, and items specifically ordered for a customer are excluded from refunds unless they are defective or incorrectly supplied.
5. Fabrics and customer-supplied materials
- ZAW is not responsible for defects, shrinkage, colour bleeding, weakness, or other characteristics inherent in customer-supplied material.
- The customer remains responsible for ensuring that sufficient material is provided.
- Unused materials purchased specifically for the customer may be non-refundable once ordered or cut.
- Any refund for customer-supplied materials will not exceed the amount actually received by ZAW for those materials.
6. Refund method and timing
Approved refunds will normally be made using the original payment method. If this is not reasonably possible, ZAW may arrange another mutually agreed method.
Approved refunds will generally be processed and issued exclusively through the original payment method within 14 business days after the refund is confirmed and, where applicable, the item is received and inspected.
Bank, payment-gateway, delivery, or third-party charges may be deducted where they are non-refundable and were incurred in connection with the order.
Sale items are not eligible for refunds.
7. Deposits and outstanding balances
- A deposit confirms the customer's order and allows ZAW to reserve production capacity and purchase materials.
- The remaining balance is payable upon completion or collection unless another written arrangement has been agreed.
- ZAW may retain a reasonable amount from a cancelled order to cover work completed, materials purchased, and costs incurred.
- Garments may be withheld until all outstanding amounts have been paid.
8. How to request a refund
Requests should be sent to:
Email: info@zawfashion.com
Mobile: +971 56 604 1171
The request should include the customer's name, contact number, order date, receipt or order reference, and a clear explanation of the issue.
9. General terms
- All refund requests are subject to inspection and approval under this policy.
- Any special arrangement must be recorded in writing and agreed by ZAW and the customer.
- This policy does not limit any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable UAE laws and regulations.
- ZAW may amend this policy when necessary. The version applicable to the order will generally be the version provided or made available to the customer at the time of purchase.
